Musoma Regional Referral Hospital Is Situated In Musoma Municipality. It Has A Bed Capacity Of 300 With 13 Wards. The Hospital Serves About 1.9 Million People. Its Construction Started On 12th May 1932 And Was Officially Opened On 28th January 1933 By Mrs E.C.Richard, A District Commissioner For Musoma By That Time. Maternity Ward Was The First Building To Be Constructed With And The Bed Capacity At That Time Was 12. This Hospital Started As A Health Centre But Due To The Increasing Population And Demand For Health Care, The Infrastructure Was Improved To The Current Status. At The Moment There Is Very Limited Space For Expansion Of The Hospital, Thus The Regional Secretariat Decided To Start Developing Mwalimu Nyerere Medical Centre At Kwangwa To Become A Regional Referral Hospital For Mara. Our Vision is To Have High Quality Health Services That Is Responsive To The Need Of The Community In Mara Region By 2025. Our Mission is to Provision Of High Quality Health Services And Social Welfare That Is Affordable, Timely And Accessible, By Use Of Available Resources To Our Clients.
