SWISSAID Tanzania Vacancy, March 2023

SWISSAID Tanzania is a non-government organization headquartered in Switzerland with operations in nine countries. It operates in Tanzania since the 1970s with a focus on small scale farming, gender equality and extractives. Swissaid Tanzania currently works with a community of around 10000 small scale farmers and fish farmers in the southern regions of Mtwara and Lindi, through a selection of local partners. In line with SWISSAID Tanzania 2019-2024 country programme, the overarching objective is to improve sustainable rural livelihoods of smallholder farmers. In close cooperation with local partner organisations, we are supporting smallholder farming families to increase their income through agro-ecological cultivation methods and better access to markets. The raw materials sector must become more transparent and standards for small-scale mining must be improved. Women play an important part: they are encouraged to take on leadership roles and get actively involved. The road is long, but the l motivation of the Alliance partners remains unbroken: By 2024, the alliance wants to reduce the number of people going hungry in the project areas by 20 percent. Thanks to sustainably produced and sufficiently available healthy food.
