UNHCR Tanzania supports the Government of Tanzania in providing refugees and asylum seekers with international protection and durable solutions. UNHCR works primarily with the Ministry of Home Affairs as well as other government line ministries to deliver aid to the population of concern. Of these, some 83% live in the Ndutu and Nyarugusu refugee camps located in the northwestern region of Kigoma. Tanzania has had a long history of generosity in hosting refugees. Our dedicated and professional staff work around the clock in roles including legal protection, community services, public affairs, health and more.
